What I’ve come to realize over the years is how special it is to be able to hold the space for people I care about through important milestones in their life. Last year, I captured their wedding, and this year, I was asked to photograph Stephanie and Erich’s Maternity Session. Perfectly enough, they are actually due very close to their wedding anniversary date, although, Stephanie hopes the babe will wait a day or two so that they can have two special dates in June.
Stephanie is a very crafty, creative, and beautiful earthy mama-to-be and was super inspired by M Loves M Maternity Shoot in the Fields. Totally in character, Stephanie got to work bringing together her vision, making her bouquet and flower crown from flowers from Trader Joe’s and finding a gorgeous open space to take the photos, Santa Ysabel Preserve nearby Ramona and Julian, thanks to her hubby Erich who has mapped these spaces within his line of work.
I have never been into the preserve before, but it was absolutely divine and whimsical — gorgeous trees, open grassy space, and organic rock formations. Everything, from the way they dressed to the bouquet she put together, felt so organic and natural. It’s what I love about these two. They are just such naturally beautiful people.
Thank you Stephanie and Erich for trusting me to capture another important moment in your lives together, also, thanks for the surprise Peace Pies wrap! It was so fun getting to spend an evening with you two again and I can’t wait until I get to meet your beautiful babe in person in June! Much love, you three.
